White Tara is one of the most revered deities in Tibetan Buddhism, along with Green Tara. It is said that they were born from the tears shed by Buddha Avalokiteshvara who, observing the suffering of humanity in the earthly world, was deeply moved. His tears gave rise to a lake, from which a lotus flower emerged, giving birth to Tara.
Tara, like all bodhisattvas, is capable of assuming various aspects with various characteristics depending on the type of help she can provide to anyone who invokes her aid. She is a type of energy always ready and full of vitality. White Tara is depicted with a five-leaf crown. Her right hand is lowered and open in the varadamudra, while her left hand holds a white lotus flower in full bloom between her fingers.
