This necklace is made in Nepal by a Tibetan artist with gilded copper. The figures, in particular, are very special. They have created eight auspicious symbols from traditional culture.

The Parasol, in the Eight Tibetan Auspicious Symbols, represents spiritual power and royal dignity, compassion and the protection of all sentient beings from pain, illness, obstacles, and suffering in this life.

This necklace has 21 decorated copper beads. Each bead features different figures of the eight auspicious symbols (Tashi Dalgyal).

  • The Parasol - protection.
  • The Golden Fish - liberation.
  • The Vase of Wealth - longevity.
  • The Lotus Flower - purity.
  • The Conch Shell - abandonment of ignorance.
  • The Endless Knot - interdependence.
  • The Victory Banner - victory.
  • The Dharma Wheel - Buddhist teaching.

This necklace is made of 21 beads, which is an excellent number for women as it symbolizes the 21 Taras.

What is the meaning of the 21 Taras and the Tara mantra?
The Tara mantra is OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA. It means to be liberated from samsara. TARE shows that Mother Tara liberates living beings from samsara, from true suffering or problems. TUTTARE liberates you from fears. The third word, TURE, liberates you from illness.
