Prayer Flags
Size: Length 95 cm
Prayer flags are inscribed with auspicious symbols, invocations, prayers, and mantras to generate compassion, health, fulfillment of wishes, and to overcome sickness, natural disasters, and other obstacles. Typically hung in windy and mountainous areas, prayer flags moving in the wind generate natural positive energy, bring spiritual vibrations, and offer protection and harmony to everything touched by the wind.
Prayer flags consist of 5 colorful cloth flags that are strung on ropes and hung horizontally or tied to vertical poles. The 5 colors represent the 5 basic elements: Earth (yellow), Water (green), Fire (red), Air (white), and Space (blue). When these elements are in balance both externally and internally, it is said to bring harmony to the surroundings and healing to the body and mind.
For centuries, Tibetan Buddhists have planted prayer flags outside their homes and places of spiritual practice for the wind to carry their beneficial vibrations across the countryside. Perhaps there is no simpler way to create good merit in this troubled world of ours than by putting prayer flags out for the benefit of other living beings.
