Hand-Painted
White Tara is one of the most beloved incarnations of the Tara Bodhisattva. Our Nepalese artist has done an exceptional job and created a masterpiece Thangka painting of White Tara. As a result, her divine colors appear very vibrant and will be a great inspiration to you in your practice. White Tara shines like a thousand white moons in the summer sky. In addition, her Bodhisattva crown is painted in beautiful colors with the Buddha Amitabha. White Tara’s 7 eyes are painted with perfection, so all her actions and thoughts are imbued with divine compassion and wisdom.
Our White Tara Thangka painting holds the blue lotus stem between her index finger and thumb in her left hand. The lotus is very special to White Tara because it gives off its fragrance in the moonlight. Moreover, White Tara sits in the lotus position depicting the Abhaya mudra with her left hand raised. Her followers believe that White Tara has more compassion for sentient life than a mother’s love.
Furthermore, with her right hand, she depicts the Varada mudra. This venerable mudra is also known as the “gift-giving” mudra. It gives the gifts of healing, compassion, and longevity to devotees who follow her teachings and recite her mantra. Click here to learn more about the Tara Bodhisattva.
