This beautiful wooden box is made in Nepal with traditional Tibetan Buddhist symbols design. It is special because it is hand-drawn on Himalayan wood, which is very light and durable. It can also be used as a jewelry box for personal items. Another thing we can do is use it as a decoration for our home and also for our offices, as it is a traditional art of Tibetan craftsmanship.
In Tibet, the conch shell (dung-gyas-'khyil) is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Tibetan Buddhism and represents the glory of the Dharma teaching, whose sound spreads like the conch itself, awakening all from ignorance. It also symbolizes the female deity, protection and the sound proclaiming enlightenment, attracting the attention of monks during ceremonies.
In Tibetan Buddhism, the Dharma Wheel (or Dharmachakra) symbolizes the Buddha's teaching, the Eightfold Path, and the cyclical movement of Samsara (rebirth). The wheel, in its form, also represents integrity (the hub), wisdom that eliminates ignorance (the spokes), and meditative concentration (the rim). Its act of "turning" is the spreading of the Buddha's teachings to free beings from suffering.
