This beautiful wooden box is made in Nepal with the traditional design of Tibetan Buddhist symbols. It is special because it is hand-drawn on Himalayan wood, which is very light and durable. It can also be used as a jewelry box for personal items. Another thing we can do is use it as a decoration for our home and also for our offices, as it is a traditional art of Tibetan craftsmanship.

The Parasol

The Parasol (Sanskrit chattra, Tibetan gdugs) is a symbol of royal dignity and therefore, by extension, of one who holds spiritual power.

Derived from Indian art, the parasol has several variations in Tibetan iconography; it can be very elaborate, yellow, white or multicolored, made of silk, large enough to shelter at least four or five people; it can also be composed of multiple parasols stacked one on top of the other, with multiple tiers, embellished with strings and multicolored silk drapes with fringes, all supported by a wooden structure.

The parasol symbolizes the entire activity of the Dharma in protecting all sentient beings from illness, from all obstacles and adverse forces, from ignorance, from the suffering of this life, from rebirth in the lower realms so that the complete extinction of suffering may be achieved.
