Tibetan Black Tourmaline Mala
108-Bead Tibetan Mala – Black Tourmaline & Carnelian
This authentic Tibetan mala is much more than a simple meditation tool: it is a spiritual companion, a sacred object handed down through centuries of Buddhist tradition. Each bead has been carefully selected for its energetic quality and natural beauty, making each mala a unique and unrepeatable piece.
✦ Black Tourmaline – Protection & Grounding
Black tourmaline has been considered one of the most powerful protective stones in the world for millennia. Used by Tibetan monks and shamans worldwide, this stone creates an energetic shield around its wearer, repelling negative energies and promoting a deep sense of grounding and stability. During meditation, black tourmaline helps clear the mind of intrusive thoughts, allowing for deeper and more authentic concentration on the mantra or object of meditation.
✦ Carnelian – Vitality & Inner Courage
The guru bead and the two mantra counters are made of carnelian, a stone with an ancient and enveloping warmth. Carnelian is associated with vital force, motivation, and the courage to face the spiritual path with determination. In Tibetan tradition, the guru bead represents the spiritual master and the connection to the lineage of teachings received: holding it between your fingers while reciting the mantra is an act of devotion and gratitude.
✦ Mala Features
- 108 black tourmaline beads – the sacred number par excellence in Buddhism and Hinduism
- 2 carnelian mantra counters – for keeping track of recitation cycles
- Carnelian guru bead – beginning and end point of the rosary
- Handmade by Tibetan artisans using traditional methods
- Slight natural variations in the stones make each mala unique
✦ How to Use the Mala
Hold the mala in your right hand, passing each bead between your thumb and middle finger. Recite your mantra – such as Om Mani Padme Hum – with each bead, for a total of 108 repetitions per cycle. When you reach the guru bead, do not cross it: reverse direction and start again. This gesture symbolizes respect for the master and the continuity of the spiritual journey.
✦ Care and Preservation
Store your mala in a clean and respectful place, preferably wrapped in a silk cloth or placed on an altar. Avoid prolonged contact with water and perfumes. To energetically recharge the stones, expose them to the light of the full moon or place them on a clear quartz crystal.
Each mala is shipped with care, ready to be offered as a spiritual gift or to begin your personal practice.
