Vertical Prayer Flags
Tibetan Prayer Flags (Tibetan: Lung-ta)
Size: 250x90 cm
Space / Blue
Space represented with prayers of victory (overcoming suffering).
Wind / White
Wind represented with the White Tara deity for health and long life,
Fire / Red
Fire represented with Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava to destroy all obstacles and interferences.
Water / Green
Water represented with Green Tara to free from all kinds of suffering and fear of the mind,
Earth / Yellow
Earth represented with the wind horse that brings good fortune and auspiciousness.
The prayers on the flags are worn away by the blowing wind.
The print design may vary slightly from the photographic images due to artisanal production, but all versions include Lung ta (Wind Horse), which brings good fortune, White Tara for health and long life, traditional mantras, and deities.
There is a traditional procedure to observe before hanging the flags: once the spot is chosen (a balcony, a roof, a garden that can be reached by the wind), the flags must be purified with incense. Then, the blue flag, representing space, from which everything originates and which contains everything, should be placed highest. Subsequently, the other colors representing the elements will be arranged.
You can write the names of your friends, relatives, and those to whom you wish to dedicate them on them.
